More About PRP Hair Rejuvenation
Patients who have PRP treatments have their blood drawn in the office. It takes about 10 minutes for the blood to be spun in a tube in a centrifuge. Next the PRP is removed from the tube and divided into multiple syringes.
Once the PRP is ready, the scalp is cleaned with rubbing alcohol. Then, a device is used to numb the area and the PRP is injected. Most patients have their frontal scalp and crown treated. Treatments are very well tolerated. Some patients will have mild tenderness for a couple of days when they touch their scalp.
Treatments are typically performed monthly for four treatments. Maintenance treatments are required for most patients.
